Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (XSI) signed a Shipbuilding Contract with FSIGC Investment Co., Ltd. (FSIGCI) on August 12, 2015 to build 1 (one) unit of Offshore Wind Power Institutional Operation Platform (namely Wind Power Turbine Installation Ship, the “Vessel”). Mr. Ai Guodong, Chairman of XSI and Mr. Guan Junbin, General Manager of FSIGCI signed on the Contract. Many other top-level management from both sides, from Fujian Ocean Engineering Technology Research Institute and from No.708 Research Institute of CSSC attended and witnessed the signing. The Contract includes 1 optional vessel.
Length overall of the Vessel is 108.50 meters, length between perpendiculars is 99.00 meters, breadth molded is 40.80 meters, depth molded is 7.80 meters, designed draft is 4.60 meters, and service speed is 6.00 knots. The Vessel will be built under the survey of CCS. The Vessel is a special offshore engineering ship which integrates the functions of large-scale component transportation, lifting and installation. It’s able to transport 3 sets of 5MW and 2 sets of 7MW wind power turbines at one trip. The operating water depth of the Vessel reaches 50 meters. As a wind power turbine installation ship of the latest generation, the Vessel is highly automated and has word-wide leading technologies. It’s the first of a totally new type of offshore engineering ships for XSI, even for Fujian Province.
XSI commenced the research and development of many type of world’s most
popular offshore engineering ships as early as it started the development of
PCTC which is its core product. After the successful constructions of 75m/78m
PSVs, 300-men Accommodation Vessels, 200-men Maintenance & Work Vessels,
and 1000-ton Fishery Administration Vessels, XSI developed this new type of
offshore engineering vessel. Wind Power Turbine Installation Ship turns a new
page of XSI’s development history and it will greatly enhance XSI’s comprehensive
corporate strength and competitiveness.
