XSI sixth 8500PCTC (462F) signed for delivery

        At December 8th, 16:30. “Hoegh Trotter” sixth of 8500PCTC series (462F) which constructed by XSI for Norway Hoegh Autoliners, was signed for delivered and started operation at business center in XSI complex building. XSI vice president, executive vice general manager Liang Hong and representative of Hoegh Autoliners Mr. Morken signed at ship delivery agreement separately. Representative of Hoegh Autoliners, representative of DNV-GL, XSI leader Wang Xiaoxia, Wu Yuhua and other person intended the ceremony.

        At December 11th, 8:00, with the rising sun, XSI hold flag changing ceremony for “Hoegh Trotter”. With the companion of Fujian shipping group vice general menager, XSI president Li Zhenjun, executive vice general manager Liang Hong, vice general manager Wu Yuhua and other leaders, Norway Hoegh Autoliners head of new building Mr. Morken, representative of classification society, captain of “Hoegh Trotter” and other guests attended the ceremony. In the ceremony, vice general manager Wu Yuhua presented national flag to the captain according to international etiquette. At 11:20, “Hoegh Trotter”, full with wishes from XSI, started sailing to its first destination, South Korea Pyeongtaek Port.

        For “Hoegh Trotter”, its length overall is 199.9m, length between perpendiculars is 193.11m, molded width is 36.5m, design draught is 9.35m, it has 14 vehicle decks, could carry 8500 standard cars, its vehicle area is 71.4k square meters, it has a side door, a stern door, 5 moveable decks and 13 moveable ramps. Compared to other same type ships, this ship has extended deck area, greatly improved its capacity and flexibility of loading huge cargo. This ship could satisfy requirements of loading multiply height vehicles, can load not only trucks and sedans, but also trailers and other engineering vehicles. XSI first 8500PCTC “Hoegh Target”, started operation in Europe in July 2015, been highly praised, and been nominated for “Yearly Best Ship Prize” of “2016 European Marine Engineering Prize” and energy saving prize of 2015 Norway marine exhibition. This ship represents the highest level of world large PCTC construction and design.

        As one of 12 national ship exporting bases, Fujian shipbuilding leading company, XSI focuses on improving shipbuilding research and innovation ability, consolidating its advantage in PCTC market. In 2013, based on company strength of having constructed 18 4900PCTC for European ship owners, XSI signed 6 8500PCTC construction contracts and all of them have been delivered and started operation now. High evaluation for 25 PCTC from ship owners shows this type of ship have been a successful and competitive production.
